The oblique cuboid in one picture of the sequence seen before is the base of the geometrical construction.

Both domes rendered here are based on a simple geometrical solid too. The left one being a conventional geodesic dome is based on an icosahedron, the right one being novel, on a cube. Since the latter needs no special components on the footings it needs less panels formats as a whole. Besides, the vertices between the facets, that is, panels are less acute.
